Our Story

Help Us Build “The Centre”!

Ridgetown and Area have long been known for having a group of active adults who enjoy spending time together and welcoming newcomers. We believe that time spent with friends doing fun activities keeps you strong in mind, body and spirit and is one of the true joys of life. For years, the Ridgetown Seniors Centre has served our community in this capacity. But now we’re ready to stride into the future with a new Centre that can serve a wider range of people with broadening interests.

Our new facility will have something for everyone:

    • 4 Activity Rooms
    • Games Room
    • Café
    • Kitchen
    • A 1000 sq ft. portico over the main entrance that will allow for people to be dropped off and kept out of the rain
    • Ample parking for a facility of this size
    • A good expanse of green space that enhances this peaceful setting

We are fortunate and privileged to be the recipients of property, located in the centre of our community, donated by Mr. William Harrison. In 2014, Mr Harrison, a former resident of Ridgetown, generously donated the property for the purpose of building a new Centre.

“The Centre” facility is only part of our story…

The Centre’s mandate is to facilitate partnerships with other community organizations to ensure local adults can easily access and benefit from a wider variety of activities and fellowship opportunities.

Fundraising has begun!

We need to raise $2.5 Million for the new facility for:

    • Building
    • Equipment and Furnishings
    • Operating Costs

We plan to start building in Spring 2020. The Grand Opening will be end of 2020.
